Dr. Skarada:
Dentist. This is Doug Skarada, and I'm not gonna say my patient's name, but he's a guy I've known for a really long time, and the super cool thing about it is that he's a dentist. And he knows about how to take care of people who are scared and may have some discomfort and do so successfully as a dentist. And I was wondering if you could just share with us, again, about the pain after the surgery or the experience itself.
Patient:
Okay. You know, it was amazing because the only thing I felt, and you told me – you know – you're gonna feel a little pinch, was when you put the numbing agent in it or Lidocaine – whatever it was. And after that, I felt absolutely nothing, and postoperatively nothing. I thought I was gonna have a little bit of pain; I took one thing – pill when I got home – or later in the day when the other stuff wore off. And aft– but I didn't need it, and I had absolutely no pain at all.
Dr. Skarada:
That's really good to hear. If you were to advise a person thinking about this surgery, how quickly after the surgery do you think a person could return to doing their job?
Patient:
I took it easy the next day, and I had a few days off just to be on the safe side. For me, I could have done it, probably, the second day after the surgery, but I noticed that, as a dentist, I was having this a little bit of bloody discharged. Not that bothered me, but – you know – my – and it wasn't so much to where it was really that noticeable in the mask. There were masks, obviously, when I work. But, yeah. Second day would have been fine. I had a couple of days aft– I think I had three days before I went back to work.
Dr. Skarada:
That's really helpful. Thank you –
Patient:
Yep.
Dr. Skarada:
– very much. I appreciate it.
Patient:
Yep.
